The academic years 2016-17 & 2017- 18 were very flourishing and rejuvenating years. The most important reward, of course, is that, the school is heading towards curricular and co-curricular excellence remembering all the great rewards showered by God.
I, with great pride and pleasure, am presenting before you the Annual report of the academic years 2016-2017 and 2017-18.
Strength of the School:-
The section has 1176 students on the roll comprising 671 Boys and 505 Girls which is comparatively more than those of the previous year.
Beginning of the day:-
The school begins everyday with regular assembly in which the little ones participate eagerly and enthusiastically. The assembly consists of exercise, prayer, inspirational quotes Birthday wishes, National Anthem and the assembly ends with the children echoing “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
“ A teacher
Takes a hand ,
Opens a mind ,
And touches a heart.”
The most vital issue in any school is the quality of the education, St. Mary’s School is no exception.
Our academic results are good, but we are confident we can make it much better with the present staff in the section consisting of 48 teaching and 9 non teaching who are well qualified and much experienced.
“What teacher is more important than what he teaches.”
In order to rekindle and rejuvenate the staff, seminars were conducted in the beginning of the academic session.
Classroom management, time management, interpersonal skills, professional ethic’s and remodeled assessment. Training were conducted for the staff.
Teaching Methods: –
In-order to impart optimum knowledge to the little ones, the school employs various and interesting methods for the same. This year the school stated audio –visual methods for pedagogical purposes along with smart-classes. The vision and initiative of Rev. Fr. Manager Jomon Varghese is evident in this Endeavour.
Regular and periodic oral and written tests are conducted to assess the student’s academic progress.
Healthy competitive atmosphere enhances the intellectual, physical power of the students. With a view of this the section conducted various co-curricular activities for its students in the month of December the students participated in the sports events enthusiastically and energetically.
During this academic year, the school celebrated various festivals like Teacher’s Day, Children’s Day, Patroness Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Independence Day, Diwali, Pink day, Grandparents day, Green day, Mothers Day , Christmas day, Republic day, Yoga Day, etc. This helped the students to imbibe the values of Indian tradition and culture.
Our students presented various cultural programmes on this day.
A disciplined citizen is a mile-stone in the developmental journey of a society. Giving this maximum importance St. Mary’s places a key importance on the disciplinary atmosphere of the school which is appreciated by the parents as well as the people of Barwaha.
I end my report by seeking God’s blessings on our students and their parents and desiring to be more worthy of his blessing in each passing day.
I wish you all a blissful and fruitful time ahead.
May God lead us through the patroness of our school, Blessed Virgin Mary in the years ahead and to keep us in the path of love and service.
Sr. Paul Mary
